So this album has been around for a while now and it irks me that it's finally getting recognition (much like the long under-rated talent of The Black Keys), I'm almost mad that everyone is starting to "like" it just because it's getting some radio-play lately.

"My Head Is An Animal" by Of Monsters And Men

With that rant aside, my Album of the Week pick for the Mandatory Music portion of this site is going to be "My Head Is an Animal"from Of Monsters and Men. What they do is original and fresh. The female and male vocal offerings on the tracks meld perfectly together, giving each song a natural flow about it.

If you're like me and don't like listening to a whole lot of mainstream music, don't worry, this album is in no way mainstream. I've listened to this for about a year, before it gracing the radiowaves, and it is definitely worth a listen.

Many people have been confusing these guys with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, but I don't see it. There are some small, similar elements, but nothing fundamental.
